Cenote and Mayan ruins tours from Cancún

Most ruins tours from Cancún pair a Mayan site with a cenote swim. On our verified list they run from US$39 to US$169 per person (checked Oct 2026). Chichén Itzá trips take about 12 hours and Tulum trips 9–10, and one small-group tour skips the ruins for three cenotes. Before you book, check whether the official entry fee is included, because often it isn't.

Questions

Is the Chichén Itzá entrance fee included on tours from Cancún?

It depends on the tour. The All-Inclusive (from US$135) includes all taxes and fees. The base option of the US$39 tour doesn't, and admission costs US$44 extra unless your option includes it. The official price for foreign visitors is MXN 697 (CULTUR/INAH, checked Oct 2026).

How much is the Tulum ruins entrance fee in 2026?

MXN 265 for foreign visitors and MXN 80 for Mexican nationals, per INAH's page (updated 10 Aug 2026). That unified fee already includes the national-park charge. Neither of our Tulum tours includes it in the price: the Tulum-only tour has you pay it separately, and the Akumal tour collects US$40 per adult at boarding for its listed fees.

Can I still climb a pyramid?

At Cobá, yes: INAH allows the Nohoch Mul climb from 8:00 to 15:30, up to 15 people at a time, for 15 minutes. The Cobá tour runs from Cancún only on Saturdays.

Which tour is best if I mainly want cenotes?

The 3-cenote small-group tour: Casa Cenote, Taak Bi Ha and a private underground cenote with lamps, with a maximum of 10 people and all cenote fees included. It's based in Tulum, so pickup from Cancún costs US$40–60 extra.

Can I see ruins and sea turtles on the same day?

Yes. The Tulum, cenote & Akumal tour (from US$83, 10 hours) combines a guided Tulum visit, Mariposa cenote and guided snorkeling with turtles in Akumal. Sightings of wild animals are never guaranteed.

Are these tours good for kids?

Check each listing. The 3-cenote tour isn't for children under 6, and the Akumal tour lists a US$25 child fee. The Akumal tour isn't for children under 2; the others don't state a minimum age.
